I also think that Tory would have crushed him if not for bringing up faith-based schools. That is what destroyed the PCs that election if I recall correctly. It's too bad because I think that Tory would have been a damn good Premier. Frankly, I am not fond of any of McGuinty's potential replacements. I don't really like Hudak and Horwath seems to be in lala land.

With the PCs squandering two good opportunities in a row to a vulnerable Premier, I have to wonder if it's the brains behind the party and not the leaders themselves that are the issues. Both times it has looked good for the PCs for quite a while only for them to falter towards the end.
