This seems to say that Canada would lose a tie breaker with HON based on points between the two games if they lose (and assuming Honduras loses by 1 tonight, and beats Canada by 1).

Regardless, always leery about the type of game going on right now between two teams such as this cut from the same cloth/in the same region, considering they know the Canada result before kickoff. Panama knows they'll roll over Cuba regardless, and be on 12 points with at least a +4 goal differential (assuming they would lose by 1 to Honduras and beat Cuba by 1 at least).

Which means its down to Honduras or Canada....Panama probably, all things equal, prefer to have fellow Central Americans going through as opposed to Canada (or the US). A suspect goal against Panama, or a boring 0-0 tie in the second half of the game tonight, would not surprise me in the least, which gives Honduras a better chance and better rested for Tuesday.

Before I get accused of the tin hat conspiracy, there's a reason the final group matches of the World Cup are played within each group at the exact same time, not staggered like the other group games. The most blatant example of this in a big competition was Peru in 1978 WC. Different World Cup format, with a round robin for the second round. Final game of the round robin, hours after Brazil beat Poland, Argentina played Peru. The hosts Argentina needed to win by 4 to reach the WC final. 2-0 at half, but then a collapse by Peru and ends a 6-0 final and Argentina leap frogs Brazil to get to the final in their home country.
