I think people in general, and kids especially, just don't fully realize the impact that this is having.
When you are with a person and start giving them a hard time you know how hard you can push based on the person's reaction - do they grimace, blush, frown, etc. There are lots of physical queues we use but none of those exist with online technology.
And it isn't even just kids - there was an article a few weeks ago about a journalist who tracked an online troll down. http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisf...nfronted-troll
