The more likely result is that Syria's neighbours use security reasons as an excuse to pick apart the carcase and gain territory for their own.

I think the relationship between Israel and Turkey is better than it appears; Turkey's leadership must keep up the facade that Israel is the devil to keep their people in check. I would imagine behind the scenes Israel probably gave them the target to strike.
It always seems reasonable in the Arab world for Arab on Arab violence, Israel will always be held to a different set of rules.
