When using an sd card for extended memory, will it integrate your music into the same library as the phones music? Meaning all songs whether on the phone or the extended memory all get grouped into one place when you open the music player and you can access it all together.

I am not sure about stock ROMs but I know on some custom ROMs you can get notifications on the lock screens as well as music controls. On mine I can use the volume rockers to skip forward or backwards as well as on screen buttons. I believe there are apps that will handle notifications on the lock screen as well.
Don't know about instant scroll but it would be nice to know if there was.
Media files on your SD card should integrate with your system with no issues. Sometimes a reboot may be necessary if you added the card after you booted up but shouldn't be. There are also apps that will force scans for media.
