Omar Vizquel as Jays manager in the near future (?)...
Given the neverending rumours that Boston is very interested in regaining Farrell as part of their staff not as a pitching coach but as a manager, if so, the Jays should try to trade for one of the Bosox's pitchers in the rotation .
Given Omar Vizquel's great career and exposure to many top managers over his 23 years in the majors, he should be a fine candidate as Farrell's replacement. He seems to have a good repoire with players-listening and communicating with them constantly. He obviously cares enough to state that the Jays do not seem to have any true leaders in the clubhouse as well as sound communication between staff and players. As a result, the Jays are making the same amaturish mistakes since April-from poor base running, signal mixups, poor play judgements etc and players seldom suffer any consequences as a result. The above mistakes were not the results of their many key injuries. There is just not much accountability and leadership to correct and move forward.
If I were AA, Omar Vizquel should be gven a long hard look as the next Blue Jays manager of the future.
