I dealt with an 8 hour time difference by staying awake on arrival day until local bed time. The one time I arrived at 8am, and had to power through until 10 pm until I just couldn't stay awake anymore. The worst thing you can do is take a nap in the afternoon. I did that once, and for the next few days, I was waking up at 2am and not able to fall back asleep until 6.
If you're lucky, you'll arrive later in the day, and you'll be sufficiently tired by bed time, so that you can just go to sleep as usual, and wake up at a normal hour.
