After struggling to prevent goals becoming more of a problem than scoring, and Sedin having only scored 1 goal in 5 games, it was decided he was the player to be moved to bring in defensive help. While downgrading a lot, the Blues added two young, solid defensive Dmen and a bunch of picks.

To SJ:
D. Sedin LW, 31y 75ov
MA Bergeron D, 31y 60ov
3rd (Pit)
Boatload of cash

To St.L:
Luke Schenn D, 22y 65ov
Nik Hjarlmasson D, 25y 66ov
2nd (Tor)
Waived a top 25 1st owed to SJ
Waived a 2nd owed to SJ

I wanted to ensure I got back at least as much as I gave up for the Canuck diving twin and I believe I did after getting a couple of opinions. Funny that both deals involved a Schenn though!
