hating the new tuner.

playing offline season:

My main beefs, as i'm playing a season:

1) Once the cpu is out of their zone it is essentially impossible to get the puck back. You basically need to wait for them to take a shot, get a few rebounds as their always first, until eventually getting the puck back. In order to break the cycle will have to go back to playing a "hitting is the best defense" style, in other words, back to NHL 11/12/etc standard gameplay, Yawn.

2) Penalties are stupid. Great my guys get called for trips now. I have played 10 games since the patch, and i think i've had a PP once during that period. Did EA even test this tuner config??

3) Goalies/Goals. Why are CPU goals so much simpler (snipe shots short side, point wristers that bounce off my goalies pads and back into the net, etc), yet my shots are saved by spider goalie repeatedly. Well at least cross crease is back

4) Hitting sucked in nhl 13, and now it's brought to the forefront. I wonder if ea makes hitting physics a big upsell again in the next year's version haha. amazing how many times a small guy like sam gagne can knock down a much bigger dman, yet when the big dman lays the body on him he bounces off 8 out of 10 times. CPU vs player hitting effectiveness is completely out of whack, the physics are non-existent.

5) skating is sluggish, which i suppose it's supposed to be, great. Why is it that sometimes when i switch player to a dman, he just stops moving completely?!? why is the CPU never penalized for their skating momentum, and are ALWAYS first to the rebounds that go to the boards?

the game is back to try to score on the rush, or once every 10 times, get some actual offensive zone time to try to cycle. Then wait for 1-2 mins in your own zone as the CPU walks circles around you. Get bored, poke check, get a tripping call (if the cpu hasn't sniped a short side goal by that time of course).

I get that i can change the tuner, but prefer playing offline wiht the standard online tuner so that the game isn't completely different when i go to online vs/HUT.

i suppose, it's another year, where i stop playing online, and completely tweak the offline settings to my liking (tone down cpu hitting, puck control, shot accuracy).

i find it funny that ea has a vision of change for the game, it comes out mixed reviews, and then they revert back to the same game that has been out there for years. Boring stuff.
