umm also the s3 is my first samsung smart phone. All the other phone use a micro usb plug too. LG, HTC, Motorola, even Blackberry. Which means 70% of smart phones on earth uses the micro usb plug.

But every iconic product is like that. People get bent out of shape for Coke or Pepsi, McDonalds or Burger King, Sony or Panasonic, Ford or Chrysler, Tim Hortons or Starbucks. That's not even mentioning our irrational passion for sports teams.
While there are fanboys of each, there are the haters of them too. The I don't love Target but I loathe Walmart crowd.
To be honest, you seem to fall into the irrationally hating Apple crowd. Yes they came out with a new connector. You have to admit the functionality of the reversibility of the plug, and future proofing is kinda neat. That said, no one here is saying "buy the iPhone 5 because of this new plug it's the shiznit!" people have mentioned its benefits (which it does have) and that the media hate is exaggerated. I don't see why you need to point out the drawbacks that we all know and don't even affect some of us, while dismissing the benefits.
Personally, new or old adapter I'd be in the same boat. I'd have to buy all new accessories anyway. Even if they went with micro-USB I'd need new ones.
One final thought before bed. This is just to show that I'm not drinking the Apple Kool-Aid
Did you know you need to get a new case for the iPhone 5, that the old cases for the iPhone 4 and 4S won't fit the 5!?! Talk about a money grab by Apple. Those b#######!!!! ( ... aaaaand GO
