Personally as much as I hate the micro USB connector, it is nice to be able to charge most phones with it. I've often had to borrow one from a friend when I forgot mine.
What's stopping them from introducing USB 3.0 cables when the read/write speeds on their phones warrants it? As far as I can tell, nothing.

Can you not see how it would be pointless to introduce faster transfer speeds when the NAND chip inside the iPhone can't even saturate a USB 2.0 connection?
