USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with any device that can use USB 2.0. So it would still work for the majority of consumers.

And saying that it still falls well without the demands of the iPhone is rather lame considering you have to push the envelope if you want to stay at the top.

If you want to say that USB 2.0 is good enough for most, well then MicroUSB is as well.

Personally as much as I hate the micro USB connector, it is nice to be able to charge most phones with it. I've often had to borrow one from a friend when I forgot mine.
