Since you want to make simplistic arguments about complex issues I will break it down for you. The micro usb connector uses a 5 pin connection, whereas the Lightning connector uses 8 pins. Apple wants to carry video, audio, charging and data syncing over one cable. The micro usb is not capable of doing all of this, so you would have to add another port, probably a mini HDMI, which most Android products do. Apple decides that instead of that they will design a proprietary cable so you don't have to buy two cables to accomplish the task the Lightning cable can with one.
Also the micro USB is incapable of carrying the kind of current required to charge an iPad

haha TOO bad you have to rebuy all your cables again since all your old ones are completely obsolete. hehe
Does it charge your phone faster? That would be pretty good.
Isn't this design kind of archaic when hardly anyone would stream video from their
phone to their tv? Doesn't apple have a program that does it wirelessly? With my S3 I can send it via Allshare.
Hmmm a microusb cable can charge a google tablet. Whats wrong with the ipad. hehe
