Great idea, bad execution.

It's hard to get into network TV with Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, Boardwalk Empire, etc.

Those shows just really do it right. Real character development. Slower plot lines.

Walking Dead or Breaking Bad would have shown there was working electricity or machines at the end of the first season, not the end of the first episode.

And they wouldn't have tried to bombard with so many main characters. Not that I have a problem with the characters themselves, it just makes the series so obvious.

I assume this is done cause it's hard to make a series work on network TV and costs so much, but they try to give too many hooks all at once.

Let us get used to the world first, and the characters, it'll make the hooks and deeds that much bigger when they do happen.
