The Flames dialed up St Louis GM RT and swung a deal over 7 days of arduous dealings:

To the Flames

Halpern, Jeff (C) NHL
Franzen, Johan (RW) NHL
3rd rd pick
thousands of $$$$$

To the Blues

Langkow, Daymond (C) NHL
Gagner, Sam (RW) NHL

Although St Lou GM RT was difficult to get a hold of and continued to change the face of the deal,

both GMs finally agreed on the scope. Franzen will provide the Flames with more pop up front and Halpern will fill the hole left from Langkow.
Tough to lose a player like Gagne who could end up significantly better this year, but the gamble had to be made.
