Interesting opinion piece in the Boston Globe this morning: Terrorists need Bush to stay in power, so how do they go about helping that out wonders this author.

These same zealots also need Bush. For them, Bush is a great uniter. The world holds him in great contempt, as demonstrated anew during his recent appearance before the United Nations. America's invasion of Iraq fuels hate around the world, which is exactly what Islamic terrorists need. What better recruiting tool can there be for Al Qaeda than a much-disliked American president overseeing the unpopular occupation of Iraq?

A new Kerry administration presumably will enjoy a honeymoon period with world leaders who despise the incumbent president. And if Kerry is to be taken at his word on the campaign trail, he will be able to convince more of those world leaders to join America in resolving the conflict in Iraq. How is that good for the terrorist network around the world?

Agree or disagree?
