The addition of LTE really is a big deal. I'm sure that speeds are down somewhat now that tons of people are on it, but in May of 2011 I was getting like 30 down and 20 upload in the Chicago area. That's faster than my home internet connection.
I really think the 4S cost them quite a bit of sales by not having LTE, at least in the US. I mean, I live in Davenport, Iowa, in the "Quad Cities." I would bet that if the Flames hadn't temporarily put their farm team here, NONE of the people on this board would have even heard of this place. Yet I've had LTE for over a year. Its not like its only in the big cities or anything. So people that bought a 4S last fall have to go 2 years until their upgrade when they could have LTE, without it.
I kind of wonder if a similar situation is going to come up with NFC at some point, where Apple is a late adopter in order to come in when its already a proven technology.
