You're exactly right that I am pointing out that irrational people do irrational things. Thats EXACTLY what I was trying to convey with my post. Apple is the king of getting people to irrationally give them money and there are more people who fall for this than any other brand on the planet. Not only that, but on top of this they are also the ones who will argue with you to the death about why they do it when they're to afraid to say "I just really love apple and I like having all of their products" which, like I said earlier, is completely fine if you can accept that and realize that you are going to get a lot of negative feedback for having that stance.
That is also what I was talking about with my Ipad comment. I was specifically talking about the countless amount of fanatics that will end up owning an Ipad, and Ipad mini and an Iphone.
Also as an aside, I never understood the point of jailbreaking an Iphone... That is taking your Iphone and basically turning it into an Android.
As for the business case, Google and all the other android companies seem to be really betting on intergration with future tech. The more share android gets, the less they will care about Apple consumers and they will stop porting their main apps to iOS. However, Apple seems to be trying to pre-empt this themselves by starting to develop their own apps to replace Googles.

What I don't get is why anyone has to justify to you or anyone else how they want to spend their money. Plus I really doubt outside the hardcore users people will jump from the 4S to the 5, you're really grasping at straws to make a highly flawed argument. The mindless sheep thing is a pretty big joke, it's no different than the way hardcore Android users behave, and it reeks of hypocrisy.
