Pretty sure it had something to do with the recent protests against Egyptian-American Coptic filmmakers characterizing the prophet Mohammed.

Also, I'm pretty sure even with Islamist parties in power, they are nowhere near as hostile as say, Iran. Egypt now has their first democratically-elected president, and Morsi has vowed to work with the West to improve relations. Libya is in a similar situation, with el-Magariaf representing a General National Congress in the midst of a tranisitioning parliamentary elections process.

I hardly see Libya and Egypt as fun by fundamentalists, even if the media spins it so.
