This kid, whether it's fully thought out or not, is making a strong religious (and offensive) statement to a large number of people around the world. When they are acting in the capacity of an employee of a medical facility operated by the government it is completely wrong for that person to react to it, or any other statement, regardless of how personally offended that individual may be. There's no room for personal values in that situation whatsoever.
