Te fact of the matter is that when you're not a superior opponent in terms of skill you need to take the advantages where you can, and you certainly don't allow your opponent to take advantage of situations while you let them pass by. If that means engaging in some gamesmanship that's exactly what should be done. Canadians seem so worried about being polite that they'd rather see their teams be made to look foolish than stand up for themselves.

Not sure if you're talking about the fans actions or the play on the pitch but if it's the former, I don't think it's so much that Canadians are too polite, rather that Canadian's just don't care that much about the game to do some of the things the Panamanians are doing.
If this were a hockey game, damn rights we would disrupt the opposing team. Since it's soccer, no one is passionate enough to go to their hotel room in the middle of the night and start clanging around.
