It's not that.
It's the unresolved feeling that continues throughout the run of a series.
I have never watched an episode of a serious show (besides cop dramas) that left me feeling satisfied. It's always unfinished. Because of that, it takes a really great show to keep me hooked, one that network tv hasn't been able to provide.
