Sure Canada still plays very hard and doesn't resort to outrageous tactics but once in awhile and especially for the final 15 minutes last night, Canada needed to give these cheats a taste of their own medicine. Last night's game was much too important to play nice.

Is it because we 'play fair' or is it because some of these 'irrelevant countries' are better than us? Honduras and Costa Rica are consistently ahead of us in Fifa rankings.
Last World Cup we had a group of Mexico, Honduras and Jamaica and we couldn't even win a game. I don't think you can blame that all on refereeing and gamesmanship.
Also I don't think you can lump Panama in with the other 'irrelevant countries'.
Only recently have they become good, and I haven't noticed them use the same tactics as other Central american teams, and people aren't quite as passionate about soccer their as the countries to the north. I watched a couple of their games in the Gold Cup last year and I like them. I hope they make the World Cup.
