Coming from a (mostly) non-pot smoker, I'm confused as to what the actual laws are, because I've heard different things from different people.

As far as I understood, it had been decriminalized for personal use. But then a couple of months ago I heard some politician arguing that we should decriminalize weed in Canada, and I thought "okay, did Harper somehow make it criminal again and I just missed it?".

Also, as I understand it, you can still get in trouble for have personal amounts, but you just can't be charged with anything? Like is it a ticketable offense or something? Or do they just take what you have and send you on your way?
