It is one thing if you back an album that turns out crappy, entirely something else if you back a product in expectation of receiving that product and it turns to vapour. The concept of Kickstarter wasn't really developed with the concept of a refund in mind.

Yeah, I have a feeling there is going to be a lot of shoddy, inferior, and never to materialize projects coming out of there in the next year. All you need is a nice AutoCAD drawing and a slick video and you can pull in a few hundred grand... that’s why i can't wait to see the final versions of the hidden radio and the Ouya gaming system. Kickstarter seems to be putting its head in the sand as well, deferring all responsibility to the projects creators.
