I think some of us are missing the point here. While I am happy that the driver of the Hummer who saved those kids will NOT face any insurance penalties, that really isn't the point. If he did (and we can all agree the court of public opinion wouldn't be kind if he did), I'd hope he wouldn't regret his actions, and wish he hadn't intervened. He saved 4 children from a speeding vehicle colliding straight into them!
If it were me, and I had to pay higher insurance premiums and have this on my record, I'd be upset, sure, but I'd be at peace knowing that 4 children were not hurt or killed. Some things are more important than money and a driving record.
