That is one benefit of a console, don't have to upgrade once a year to be able to play the games at their best. I have the 360 and it does look fantastic. It's closely comparable to PC gaming now. However it will fall back in the next 1-2 years as PC games get even better.
One thing to digest in your decision, the xbox360 already allows keyboard control for some games and alot of the games coming out are going to be compatible with a mouse. I can't remember which ones, but I assume most FPS'rs will be.
Another thing to consider is game price. 360 games are pretty hefty in cost. They might come down a bit, but who knows with Microsoft. But there should be a good market of used 360 games soon which will be cheaper.
Big decision if it has to be one or the other.
