A few months ago when Samsung took over from Nokia as the biggest phone manufacturer in the world people said it wasn't surprising that they were moving more smartphones than Apple considering that Apple had one phone, and Samsung had dozens. Well now Samsung is outselling Apple with ONE phone.
Sure, when the iPhone 5 comes out, Apple will move back into the lead again. And then Samsung will release a new phone, and they will likely be in the lead again.
The point is that Apple isn't the king anymore, despite what people want to say, and if they can't innovate to come up with anything new, Android is going to continue to gain more market share.
To me, Apple is suddenly playing catchup. The iPhone 5 will more than likely be something very similar to the S3. Up till now Apple was releasing the superior hardware first, and others were playing catchup. Now its the other way around.
