The human body is actually a good conductor, or at least parts of it, particularily the nervous system. But the resistance from other tissues is what generates the heat that ultimately causes a ton of damage. And it doesnt necessarily need to go through your heart to kill you; getting electrocuted at that level can cause severe brain damage and a whole litany of trauma including serious burns that often requires amputation. Imagine the impact of a sudden and rapid conversion of water to steam from within your body. POP!

And I'm curious about what would be required to vaporise somone...is it even possible? People who get struck by lightning always leave a corpse behind.

Either way, glad to hear you averted death or (even worse?) amputation of both arms followed by months of rehab.
