It's a great move for Dan because he stays, but Danielle/Frank/Jenn are now in an alliance where Frank can't play for 2 HoH's, Dan throws HoH's, so even if Britney goes it's Danielle and Jenn vs Shane/Ian/Joe
makes less sense for Jenn because she was going to float her way to the f5 at least, now if Britney stays it's her vs Britney/Shane/Ian/Joe for HOH next week, and when Frank inevitably wins Veto she is on the block
I think if Dan really was caring about further than this week he would have talked frank in to putting up Shane or somehow Joe if he could
Spoiler!
This is way is better for Danielle. She doesn't have to choose any sides. She's probably safe for the next 3-4 weeks no matter what and can play both sides. If she's off the block she has to choose sides and vote Britney out. This way there's zero blood on her hands. I'm sure they can sway Joe. He'll vote what the HOH wants. Otherwise, he's choosing a side which he hasn't done to this point. Danielle's chances of staying are closer to 80% which isn't as good as the 99% if she was up against Dan but her chances of staying in the game longer have gone way way up.
Also, no question Dan has planned this from the start. The way he selectively goes through talking about everyone, then gives his "no game playing" speech and THEN lays the hammer on Danielle before immediately talking to Frank right after that. Master plan, no doubt.
