I agree that Lindegaard is not the #1. That save is simply skill, or lack there-of. Not quite routine, as it had a late bounce, but if he can't smother he needs to parry it to safety.
I'm asking for some accountability for de Gea's apprehensiveness in both the air and in assisting his CB's - calling off his CB's and taking the ball near the edges of his box. It's more than just his air game, he is too timid.
He reminds of Ricardo in that on his goal line, he's one of the best in the world, but as soon as he voyages, he gets exposed more than he should. The late minute free kick, save off Mata in Feb is such an example. Brilliant save.

After that mistake he's behind the 8-ball. A goal that he has no chance on in I.T, and he is still the goat, and rightfully so.

Totally agree. He has to step-up his assertiveness in lieu of those two. Specifically, those two balls - one by Carrick the other Vidic, where de Gea should be running in, scooping the ball, retaining possession and assisting his CB's. He instead sat back and it resulted in two late minute corners. That is all in his head.
