The Nexus 7 Dodocase is cheaply made too. They just provide adhesive stripes to stick it to the back of the case.

Personally I think the Dodocase stuff has always been cheap - bamboo and cloth book binding is a neat idea, but hardcover books fall apart all the time, why would I wrap my tablet in that. And the retention mechanism has always been subpar.
Anyways, I wonder if maybe the medium gadget sleeve from Saddleback would fit the Nexus:

It's not a case, but their stuff is ridiculously well made. I have their iPad case and its indestructible.
