Its not a huge amount of damage (about $800-900 worth to refinish paint)....I believe the police limit is $2000 right? Should I still report to the police? Wouldn't it better to report it to his insurance?
I have no lawyer buddies unfortunately....at least not in Canada. Oh and apparently the guy works in a legal office, and said his partner handles this kind of stuff all day. The first part seems true (according to his voice mail at least).
I do have a witness and voicemail/phone records where he doesn't implicitly state that it was his fault, but has him talking about giving me a counter offer. I'm no lawyer, but why would you offer to pay part of something if it wasn't your fault?
