RCMP serious crime investigators are being brought in to probe a woman’s vicious mauling by dogs in Sundre on the weekend.
Mounties are pursuing all avenues while they explore whether the attack by two pit bulls was deliberate.
An RCMP spokesman would not comment on whether the dogs were ordered to attack the victim, who was staying at a friend’s home during the 2 a.m. attack on Saturday
Calgary data from 2003 indicate that certain breeds are overrepresented when it comes to aggressive incidents such as bites, chases and injuries. Nearly two per cent of German Shepherds, five per cent of Rottweilers and their crosses, and 15 per cent of pit bulls had been involved in an incident.
