Arsenal have sold van Persie and received in return no competitive assistance. I compared this to trading Iginla for nothing. In each instance a star player is given to a rival team with no competitive return hence the comparison.
Furthermore these are two teams that compete directly against one another. The Flames/Canucks are in the same division, they play many games against one another, competing for a playoff spot. Arsenal/United are competing for the same trophies and could play many games against each other?
In this way you see that a team has moved a star to a rival at their own detriment.
In no way were fans even entered into the equation in any way, that was your own 'clinical disillusionment.'
