Top rated forwards, defensemen and goalies in NHL 13? (Puck Daddy)
i am so glad they changed it back. i know people like to say overalls dont matter, but considering in the past the cpu would set up its lines and manage its gm mode seemingly entirely based on them, i think they are important. i think it was often demonstrated by how much tough guys would end up on the first line and/or powerplay.

not to mention, lots of people like having the overalls for quick comparisons when making moves in gm mode. personally, i compare all the catergories, but i know lots of folks want that quick snapshot so they dont have to have spreadsheets of attributes like i do!

while i agree that i might not have miller as the highest rated, he has been pretty consistent the last 4 years with his numbers. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/p....php?pid=45065

i think rinne was a little low as well as quick. both were amazing in the playoffs and i think they are going to continue that.

regarding the ratings, i still think its stupid to have a scale that goes to 99 and then never go past 95. they spent all this time talking this summer talking about the new skating system making it easier to differentiate high end players, but yet there is such a small difference in players. in order for high end players to be different they need more than a 5 point bump in attributes. they try and smush everyone so close it defeats the purpose.

also regarding rankings, is letang really that good? while i do watch a decent amount of eastern conference hockey, i rarely watch the penguins. i never recall letang being that great when the pens played the wings in the finals those 2 years.

i also would have liked to see ovechkin a bit lower. i have no problem with his rating per say, just the fact that only 2 people are better. he has been under 40 goals 2 years in a row and only had 65 points last year. he was also a minus player for the first time in years. i would have definitely put malkin and stamkos ahead of him and probably giroux as well especially since he is the cover guy.
