Hopefully this isn't a fata because this interview is a couple of days old.
Jankowski AM900 CHML Hamilton INterview
- He's been working out all summer. Weighs about 180 pounds now (his draft profile has him at 170). He works with the same trainer that John Tavares and Ryan Strome work with.
- Talks about the discipline required to be a top athlete. His friends may be going out, but he's committed to his training and his career, so he's not the type that goes out to party on weekends and in the summer.
- Compares his style to Evgeni Malkin. Sees himself as a big, skilled forward.
- Felt really good about the prospect development camp in July (people that saw him play certainly had good things to say). After playing against some older players at camp, he decided he was ready to make the jump to the NCAA.
Just seemed really confident in his own abilities. Didn't shy away from comparing his style to Evgeni Malkin, talked about how much he wanted to weigh
when he plays in the NHL. At the same time, he didn't come across as arrogant or cocky. Just seems like a nice kid.
Anyways, not a whole lot of new stuff in that interview, but though I'd post anyway.
