Correct it appears I can't include you church in that statement, but I would suggest that more often than not, "the church" builds structures they do not need. I am happy to hear about your church's approach, but I think if you honestly reflect on my statement you will agree that it is often the case that "the church" and their various branches often build extravagent facilities.
