JOB OVERVIEW
Reporting to the General Manager Sustainable Development the Senior Advisor Land /Restoration will translate the objectives and strategy developed by Senior Leaders for sustainability of Oil Sands growth.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES- Working with Suncor and outside groups to appraise environmental issues/impacts, understand Suncor growth objectives and sustainability goals to develop and implement improvement
- Engage other groups to provide staff time, expertise and support for the Sustainable Development team priorities
- Coordinate efforts across Oilsands to deliver on 2015 sustainability goals and to develop goals for 2015 forward
- Manage the Suncor interface with COSIA (13 company collaboration on environmental innovation)
- Ensure adequate resourcing for Suncor led projects and input to projects led by others
- Accountable for a portion of the RD-SD budget (~$1.5M), leadership of Suncor's budget for COSIA EPA work ($5-15M)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
- Business, Science or Engineering degree from a recognized institution
- Minimum of 15 years experience or an equivalent combination of related experience and education
- Experience in the Oil & Gas industry is an asset
Skills and Knowledge:- In-depth understanding of the Oil Sands region, industry projects, stakeholders and sustainability relating to land, ecosystem or restoration
- Able to lead through influence rather than direct line responsibility
- Self-starter with prior success in a role which required creativity, change management or a group start-up
- High capacity for uncertainty, flexibility and strong team leadership skills
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills with small teams, large groups and internal/external audiences
