Default WEEK 7: STAMPEDERS at Hamilton

Calgary Stampeders' inconsistencies showed up again last game BC Lions. That was the worst game they played so far this season scoring 8 points, 0 Touchdown, 21:10 minutes time of possessions, 29 rushing yards, 3 turnovers. On the other hand, Burris and company won 3 games in a row and are the hottest team in the CFL right now. Henry Burris won the Offensive Player of the Week, then Offensive Player of the Month of July. How is that for a washed-up QB?

OFFENSE:
It is easy to blame Kevin Glenn for every lost by the Stampeders but last game was an exception. He was not great but he was not awful either. Offensive Line was at loss couldn't protect the QB or give the RB some room to run. RB Jon Cornish or Coker was not a big help either only rushing for 29 rushing yards. I believed Cornish went negative yards for the game. So far the only consistent positive in the offense so far this season is the play of Nik Lewis 6 for 82 yards..yes he had some drop balls but he's got more positives than negatives so far. Marquay McDaniel is another plus for the Stamps' offense with 5 catches for 53 yards last week. Romby Bryant is slowly picking up his play but we definitely need to get him going. Johnny Forzani had a rough game dropping a couple of easy catch. There is going to be another shuffle in OLine in this game. Deane will start as a right tackle and Spencer Wilson will be playing his 2nd game this season will play alongside Deane.

DEFENSE:
Defense gave up 30 points and over 400 yards to BC Lions. They started well but got tired and started losing focus and started making mistakes, They were on the field for over 30 minutes chasing Travis Lulay and company. Only positive on Defense was Corey Mace recording one sack and a forced fumble.

SPECIAL TEAM:
Not a lot actions on Stamps special team vs the Lions. Paredes was perfect 2 for 2 on field goals and now 11 for 12 in the season.
KR Larry Taylor had his streak of 200-yard games of combined yards broken at three and was held to a season-low total of 86 yards. Taylor is still second in the CFL in combined yards with 1,132.
Calgary gave up a touchdown off a turnover on downs in the third quarter against the Lions when Arjei Franklin failed to pick up a first down on a fake punt.

I hope the bye week will help the Stamps' focus and start playing consistent game. I also hope they watched the replays of their 5 games so far and see what they are doing wrong. Not so sure of our chances in beating the TigerCats on this game but every game is a mystery and I am hoping the right Stampeders show up tomorrow.

GO STAMPS GO!!!
