Agreed. If they do want to do one as soon as 5 years I think it should try to be a continuation as the feelings of the Dark Knight saga will still be lingering, and honestly while I was wwathcing it for the second time last night I kept thinking the next person that has to try and make a Batman movie has their work cut out for them.
Why did a Spiderman Reboot get made? One reason, the 3rd one was such a load a crap they needed to completely reset, and had to do it within their contractual time constraints. The reboot of Batman came because Batman & Robin was so bad that I can still smell its stink. Now WB has to ask themself, Was TDKR bad? No, it was awesome and most people agree. Nolan has changed the way an entire generation of people see Batman and if they reboot it in a few years with a new tone and new cast they will be going after largely the same demographic before. A demographic that might not be keen to see a new version of Batman when they were so keen on the others.
Even the idea rebooting of Spiderman so soon was met with skepticism and most people wer pissed about #3. Although I have to disagree with you about the quality of the reboot, I thought it was way better than any of the other 3. Spiderman 2 was good, but looking back, the casting of the main two characters was just way off the mark.

Things can change between now and then but so far that is the official word..
The success of Man of Steel might change things however, and they decide they want to build the JLA universe around this movie.

When I was watching the trailer for Man of Steel last night I was thinking about how much more I would rather see a Superman vs Batman movie in the same established Batman universe than a JLA movie.
