well obviously I don't expect him to emulate van Persie's stats or anything, I meant he was signed to replace him as the lone striker. A 4-2-3-1 with Cazorla-Podolski-Walcott behind Giroud seems pretty decent to me. If they can get Sahin on loan, the defensive part in midfield could be handled by Song-Sahin. Not bad.

not sure, it's hard to say. Kagawa was in a similar situation and United paid €15m (~ £12m). Given that RvP is better than Kagawa and he would join a rival club, he'd clearly be more expensive. I could easily see SAF pay something in the region of £20m, but I don't know what Arsenal's valuation would be.
