Were the RAM failures both in the same DIMM slot? If you swapped the DIMMS, would the error occur yet again in the same DIMM slot?

I wonder if it will turn out that you've got a flaky memory controller or other logic board part that is causing RAM related failures.
I have the original RAM that came with the MBP so I popped those in for now and several iterations of memtest all returned success, where as the Corsair RAM always return failure since it went bad. When I first got the Corsair RAM, I thoroughly ran memtests to ensure that it wasn't defective to start with.
