Lobbying is truly the downfall of America. Which to bring a roundabout back to the topic at hand, no one has the balls to go up against the NRA, so gun rights will likely never change from their current status.
Is the only answer limiting gun owners rights?

Why not solve poverty issues? America needs jobs. Why not take the guns away from those who are not legally suppose to have them? It is working in New York city. Why not deal with border crime? Place some US army unites on that border with the firepower to respond when shot at. Who cares if Mexico doesn't like it? Why not stop politicians from writing illegal gun laws so the NRA can use more of their resources in training people to use firearms safely and ethically? Why not examine and improve the system in which the mentally ill are identified and assisted?

There is alot the government can do to make America safer without taking peoples rights away.
