The same goes with the Death of Superman/Reign of Superman stuff. It gets a lot of attention to this day, but if you actually read the comics, it's really not that good.
I find comics that were written in the 90's to be terrible for the most part in general. Which is probably one of the reasons the industry went to hell at the time. Even Image had better written comics than Marvel or DC.

The 90s killed off most of the comic stores and almost the comic industry. Not only due to the popularity of good art over good story, but Marvel destroyed the entire industry by publishing 1 comic with 10 different alternate covers for alot of their books.
The only saving grace from the 90's was the creation of the Vertigo comic line by DC.
