Here's the all time biggest jump in logic about the Batman series: Batman is clearly identified as a Gotham citizen. Said citizen seems to have the most expensive, high tech and advanced gear, toys and weapons in town. The citizen is also male, fairly young, obviously very wealthy to afford the toys Batman has, and is in outstanding physical condition. Is there anyone in Gotham besides Bruce Wayne that fits the description? The people of Gotham have to be pretty dumb to not know who Batman is.
