Because this is happening every fricken season and a line has to be drawn somewhere. He has a contract for another season, so if/when he goes this season, it ought really to be on terms acceptable to the Club. The more we continue to roll over, the more we get our best players cherry-picked.
That said, I fully expect us to roll over - the Management of the club has been shockingly amateurish and out of touch with changes in the modern game since David Dein left. If they were half as effective on growing the playing side as they were when they collectively (and I include Dein in this) pocketed $800m dollars from the Club without risking a penny of their own money, we'd be world beaters.
