Saying they weren't being financially responsible is being kind and suggests some kind of accidental behaviour when in fact it was deliberate and outright fraud.
And as for Rangers being a lot better than them, that we will never know for certain given there was no level playing field in the last 20 years. Sorta like saying Ben Johnson was a lot better sprinter than Carl Lewis until .....
Yes ... I take your point regarding short-sightedness but the small matter of sporting integrity is also of importance. They conned and cheated their way for years and brought the whole league into disrepute. I see Ally McCoist saying he will never accept the stripping of their titles. I'd be happy for them to keep them with a * beside their name for each one they cheated their way to. Also ... just how much money was going to the non old firm clubs?
Can you elaborate on "doing something earlier"?
