It likely wouldn't play it. In fact, it would load the main menu, but it would be entirely black except the cursor. My old Toshiba Satellite has that issue with it.

I played about 30 hours of it. It's pretty good. A very focused design that does a great job imparting the feel of the era and culture. Pretty good graphics, good music, and a cool multiplayer setup, though multiplayer is pretty limited now with the only ones remaining being the pros that know how to exploit every strategy. The strategic campaign was really cool, but I found the unit variety pretty lacking in the combat part of the game. This is a result of the period and focus of the game, though, I guess.

I would recommend it if you're a fan of that era in Japanese history, or the era covered by the expansion, or are just a big TW fan. It's definitely better and more focused of a design than Napoleon or Empire.

For me, Day 1: Fallout 3: GOTY Edition, Portal 1, Portal 2, Bioshock 2, Deus Ex: Human Evolution + The Missing Link DLC, Half Life 2, Half Life 2: Episode One, Half Life 2: Episode Two (I'm excited to replay the base game, and I never did play the Episodes), Legend of Grimrock, and Left 4 Dead 2. That gets me caught up on some older games I missed, some I want to replay, and it all only cost me like $40 or so.
