Last week, a business group submitted 4,138 signatures in an attempt to reverse a 0.7 percent sales-tax hike approved by the City Council. About 2,100 valid signatures are required.

City Attorney Craig Tindall on Wednesday said fatal errors mean Save Glendale Now's efforts were in vain.
He also dismissed a second group's effort to overturn the city's deal with a likely Phoenix Coyotes buyer.
Both groups could mount a legal challenge to get on the ballot.
Both groups behind the possible ballot measures have yet to back down. The sales-tax group said Wednesday that they are consulting with attorneys and may consider a legal challenge. Glendale resident Ken Jones, pushing for a referendum to overturn the city's 20-year $324million arena lease with Jamison, said he plans to submit signatures in the coming days despite the city's Monday deadline.
Tindall said both groups failed to follow the rules.
